Patrick Kane is doubtful for the game on Friday in Columbus due to illness. Kane missed practice on Thursday and didn’t make the trip to Columbus.
It will be interesting to see who fills in for him on the 2nd line and whether or not someone will be called up from Rockford for one game.
Also, Marty Turco has been announced as the starter for tomorrow’s game in Columbus after not starting the past two games. Let’s see if he can rebound from two losses and pick up his first win of the season

Which young Hawks player will likely be the next best rookie?
It’s going to sound like the obvious answer here but I’d have to go with Jeremy Morin. Morin impressed in camp this year and he got as close as he could to making the roster without actually making it. The decision to put him in the AHL was so he can refine his skills to get him ready for the NHL. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him up sometime during this season but I’d put my money on him making the starting roster next season. Morin has all the tools necessary to score along with speed and good puck handling skills. He reminds me of Patrick Kane with his speed and his ability to score. He’s definitely going to be good in the NHL and getting the chance in the future to play with the likes of Kane, Toews, Sharp, and Hossa are just going to make him even better.
On the defensive side, I’d have to go with Nick Leddy. He wouldn’t have made the roster without the injury to Brian Campbell but that has turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Leddy. His first two games were rough because he made some clear rookie mistakes but he has settled down quite nicely in my opinion. He’s only played in 4 games and he already got his 1st career goal so that shows he is capable of scoring. He had some miscues on defense but those have slowly disappeared the more time on the ice he has seen. He has played a lot better than Jordan Hendry, Niklas Hjalmarsson, John Scott, and Nick Boynton through these first 4 games (even with the bad first couple games) and is showing his worth to the team. I was hard on Leddy but he has impressed me the more he has played and if he learns from both Seabrook and Keith, he can become a top-tier defenseman in my opinion.
