Chicago Blackhawks vs St. Louis Blues: October 18

After winning their past two games, the Blackhawks look to win their third straight as they take on the St. Louis Blues at the United Center.

It was a struggle to begin the season but it looks as if the team is finally starting to gel. The offense is playing really well, especially Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp. The defense is still having a bit of a hard time but they are getting better. Marty Turco is getting more comfortable in goal and Corey Crawford has been a good backup in the games he has played.

As I said before, the offense has been centered around both Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa. Hossa has scored at least 1 point in every game so far this season. He’s also alternated every game scoring 1 point than 2 so if that trend were to continue then he would be scoring two points tonight. Sharp is on a major hot streak scoring 4 goals in his last two games. He’s tied with Hossa for the team lead in goals and is second in points with 7. Every team should worry about these two because they are on pace for spectacular seasons and seem to be doing everything right.

The Blues are coming off of a 3-2 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. They are 2-1-1 on the season which isn’t bad by any means. The Blues out shot the Stars significantly but couldn’t get anything past Kari Lehtonen.

Prediction:

With the Blues coming off of a tough loss against Dallas, I’d expect them to play pretty hard but I give the Blackhawks the edge at home. I’d say the Blackhawks win by one goal late, with the score something like 4-3.
